“Easy to reach from the bus station by Tuk-Tuk. The family is very nice and kind, and staying by the like is cool. Upali has lot of knowledge of the area, so aks him about everything you might need. Nevertheless, check other prices as I do not think you will get the best offer.”

“Everyone was very helpful and kind. Place is clean and nice. Accommodation near the lake is perfect, it is 10 min by foot from the train station. Meals are home cooked, delicious and low cost. You can always ask for adviceregarding traveling, sightseeing, culture or just about anything. They also offer Anuradhapura trips and other trips that are perfect for someone who does not have much days to visit much places. We strongly recommend that place. ”

“the lake was brilliant. great views. great wildlife. Saw a 1.5 metre monitor lizard, loads of birds and turtles.swam in the lake which was very refreshing. We even tried some fishing. Make sure you take a walk around the lake.The host family were amazing - great local food. Very very friendly and welcoming. Breakfasts were great - my favourite pancakes in Sri Lanka. Dinner was excellent. We hired bicycles and toured the area which was hot work but worth it. the roads to get to the ancient city are very busy though so be careful. once you have reached the ancient city area then it's very easy cycling.”

“We spent 3 nights at Lake Wave and we deffinitely recomend this place to stay at! You wake up with a beautiful view to the lake. House also has a nice garden. Every morning we got a different breakfast - always delicious! The family is very very kind and open. In the evening we sat down together - talking and laughing. They also took us to the bus station by car in the end; They probably normaly do it. Wi-fi was working well. And It's perfect that there is also a possibility of renting a bike which is in my opinium the best option for going around Anuradhapura. Thank you for everything! “Excellent location and great view on the lake. Rooms are clean and great, especially for the price. Most important, Upali is about the best host you can get. He really looks after you and wants you to feel at home. After our stay at the Lake View Hotel Upali drove us to a hotel in Trincomalee. We soon realised the hotel was awful and overpriced. Upali said he knew something better and drove us to another hotel, way better and about the same price as our previous one. Thanks again Upali and maybe we'll see you soon!”
