“Lawns is a long-time establishment in Lushoto and for obvious reason. The setting is beautiful, the staff lovely and it offers reasonable value for money. It's a little walk out of town but nothing is that dar away. Village and villagers are friendly and safe as well as happy to help, especially if you've a little Swahili — you'll be surprised how far learning a few words and phrases will go. Breakfast was decent but we didn't catch dinner so can't offer opinion on that. There's plenty in town, though, especially for the adventurous.”

“I think one of the best places in lushoto to stay. The staff was really helpful and friendly. The last day we were not able to eat breakfast because we left quite early and they packed it for us without even asking them to do so. The location and the facilites were pretty awesome as well.”

“Very friendly hosts and staff. Bathrooms are nicely renovated, and the "kuni" warm water system worked perfectly (warm water for shower needed in Lushoto). Very clean. Very nice atmosphere, the garden setting is wonderful, the dinner matched all expectations.”

“We had a great time in this place. Specially the hosts (a young friendly couple) had always time for interesting and funny conversations and always an open ear for problems of any kind. As well we liked their ideas to run this place in an ecological and sustainable way. Its one of the most important things, Tanzania needs...The staff is super friendly and professional. The breakfast-buffet is huge with lots of options, fresh fruits and really tasty coffee. The dinner (every day one specific) is awesome in quantity and quality! The place is really comfortable due to lovely fireplaces in every room for the cold evenings (it was unexpected cold in the mountains). A bar, a restaurant, a terrace, a playroom and a great space outside give the guests more than enough space to enjoy the day and evening there. ”

“Staff was super nice and they were very attentive and gave us a lot of good advice and indications. Common zones were very good and the setting was great too. Although we have no kids, it is important to say that there was a kind of playground for kids to play. We booked a twin room because it was cheaper, but, as there was availability, they changed us to a double room for no extra charge. The water leaked through the wall of the shower and all the floor got wet. As soon as we let them know, they immediately moved us to a different room.”
