“Le Hameau de Barboron is a cosy place situated a few kilometres outside the small village of Savigny-lès-Beaune. You drive through dense forest on a narrow road and wonder if this is the right way when suddenly there is a clearing and the hotel is in front of you, A medieval complex of buildings - probably a former convent - beautifully restored. Seeing the amount of luggage we were carrying (for a 2 weeks holiday) and because the room next to the one we had booked was occupied by a young couple with a baby, the manager upgraded us to a larger room that was very comfortable. The hotel is absolutely quiet, we did not hear a sound during the whole night. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed that evening because they had a large wedding party for the next day, but the recommendation we received from the manager (L'Ouvrée in Savigny-lès-Beaune) proved to be excellent.”

“Huge area around, used for hunting in appropriate season, lovely terrasse to have breakfast, comfortable bed, offered bottle of local Crement, advice from host to close front door in the evening "because of rabbits, not robbers, you know", the houses themselves - well maintained, but with this special charm of the place... My friend told that when we finally have time and money to organize our wedding, he would come back here. What should I add...:)”

“Quiet location. Room not large and having been upgraded the basic room must have been small. Luckily were able to have dinner even though we arrived at 5.30. Lovely ambience. Local sanglier terrine was excellent. Saw some sanglier as we walked in the woods.”
