“Breakfast was excellent although there was a photo which looked like there was a rooftop bar but there wasn't one”
“Loved the deco style of the hotel. Front desk very nice and helpful. Hotel breakfast buffet is extensive and has quite a variety of foods - enjoyed the tea eggs, among other delicacies. Can find great jianbing in the early morning nearby on Fuzhou Lu headed towards the Bund (@Shandong, I think?). Hotel is just off the beaten path of Bund/Nanjiang while still being convenient. Make sure you have the correct address of the hotel you booked, as there is another Metropolo a few blocks away.”
“We LOVED the decor and the room. Tastefully appointed Art Deco through out. The staff was VERY helpful with enough English speakers to make this an enjoyable visit. The location was close enough to the Bund to walk to in less than 5 minutes and about 10 minutes to Nanjing Road Shopping area. I recommend finding a private walking tour guide, this will get you access to parts of Shanghai that you may not otherwise get to see. We were fortunate to join a hour tour. Very informative on old and new Shanghai. There is a GREAT Wonton shop just around the corner, second one on the left, headed toward the Bund. We got SIX meals for less than 100 CNY (LESS than $15.00 USD) . Fresh and fast with menu on the wall in English and Chinese! PLENTY of local eateries within walking distance. There is an Exchange Kiosk in the lobby that was up to date with correct exchange rates and no extra fees!”
“Art Deco hotel a short stroll from The Bund and the next metro station. We loved the "sassy classy" room we had, which was huge, with a very comfy bed and a spacious bathroom. Staff was friendly and spoke English very well, which is not necessarily the case in Shanghai.”
