“I loved the décor at the Ponchatrain, I felt like I had been transported to a more glamourous era. The staff were very smiley and friendly and the bed and pillows were super comfortable. We loved Hot Tin, the rooftop bar, at night it was lovely and the drinks were nice and served in pretty glasses. The valet was super duper welcoming and helpful. I loved the robe, it added to the movie star feel of the place. They let us check in early which we thought was very nice. The area is awesome and the streetcar runs directly in front of the hotel and there are many nice restaurants in the area, I recommend Houston's they do live jazz.”
“St Charles trolley right outside hotel. Staff was excellent. Roof top bar was cool”
“When we had a problem with water leaking, they quickly moved us to another room. People very nice and the restaurants, very good.”
“RESTORATION OF OLDER BUILDING INTO FIRST CLASS ACCOMODATION”
“Reception staff were delightful and extremely helpful. Lovely ambience in the hotel.”
“Of course, it is deliberately 'retro' - so some amenities usual these days are not available, but that is part of the charm. Back in the day it was a stopping place for movie stars and a president or two. It is a very special place, with a top notch restaurant and terrific entertainment in the bar. The location is the best in New Orleans.”
“Rooms were well appointed, clean, and comfortable. Great restaurant on property, along with the best roof top bar in the city.”
“Very comfortable, larger room. Beautiful bathroom.”
“Room service coffee way over priced and no coffee pot in room. When the coffee for 2 was delivered it was in a little stainless steel pot ( not thermal) very small quantity that cost $25.00 . When we checked out there was no one to help with our. Luggage. The clerk from the front desk came to help us,but she had no cart. The cafe and bar did not have the capability to let us charge food and drinks to our room . It took till 4 pm to have tray removed from room/ hall way. I will say all of the staff was extremely friendly .the bar food and cafe food was delicious”
“This was a historical hotel with a lot of charm. Tennessee Williams wrote A Streetcar Named Desire here. The rooftop bar had a spectacular view of the city. The restaurant was excellent.”
