“This is a premium market and this hotel is tired, in need of major upgrade. They compete with a much newer, swankier hotel right next door - and the room price is comparable. Northampton is a college town so the hotel demand is constant but erratic (heavy on holidays and midwinter, dead in summer). At peak demand, hotels are shooting fish in a barrel - but when those fish go away feeling like they've been gutted, next time they will be more discriminating. I sure will.”
