- Effective 15 October 2017 the on-site restaurant, Kulana Terrace will be closed for renovations, expected to re-open June 2018. Breakfast can be purchased at the Front Desk during this time.<br><br>Effective 1 November, 2017 - June 2018 this property will be undergoing renovations in the common area and guest rooms. Expected noise may be heard Monday - Saturday 8:30am - 4:00pm HST. Common areas will not be available - this includes the pool and restaurant. “Under renovation! Not too bad, but not too clean. OK on weekends. Jack hammer noise starting early on weekdays. Staff mixed: valet service men in red shirts (who apologized) vs. man in green shirt who blocked our car talking to someone at driveway entrance; helpful front desk clerks and one who failed to mention hospitality room when asked about checking in early. Across from Zoo, Beach & Kapiolani Park. (Best place in Waikiki if you want to avoid $30+ per day valet parking and park on the street.) No bedbugs. (We checked.) While the rates are low for renovation we would probably stay here again.”
“Very happy with price and location. Hotel will store bags if you arrive before your room is available. Cable was out in our original room, staff moved us right away. Property is across the street from the zoo and park so somewhat removed from the hustle and noise of central waikiki. Close to many bus stops and a trolley stop. We were in room 1505 and could see the sunset from the lanai. The room had a small fridge and a single cup coffee brewer. Friendly staff.”
“The location at the end of Waikiki was great, and the view of Diamond Head from our side-facing room and balcony was lovely. Also, being able to borrow towels for the beach was so helpful.”
