“Catalina, the manager, made us very welcome on our arrival after a long day walking. The room was very quiet and comfortable with simple, elegant finishes and a beautiful view of the water. Lito, the chef, prepared a great evening meal with salmon carpaccio for starter, a lovely piece of very fresh merluza, grilled with sautéed vegetables, and a dessert. The bird life is abundant and varied with migratory wading birds along the water edge. Highly recommended.”
“I think the owners are wonderful and very enthusiastic. Follow their recommendation for dinner, it is wonderful. This is a tremendous value for the money and I wished we had booked a longer stay. The reviewer who complained about the access road is incorrect. While steep up and down, we managed it fine with a very small low clearance car in the rain. The owners have put down tarps in the tricky spots to prevent slipping. Easy to find with google maps and some of the best hotel signage I've ever experienced along the way. No way to get lost.”

“The Refugio is a pearl at the Puallo Bay which is a world class bird watching side. But even for people that do not watch birds (at least not with great understanding -- like me), the Refugio Pullao provides a perfect escape into a calming and beautiful landscape. Staff is extremely welcoming and go out of their way to make the stay as comfortable as possible.”
