“Excellent hotel located in the village of Schoorl a short distance from the dunes and beaches of North Holland. The hotel is well equipped and furnished. As well as a highly rated formal restaurant - which we didn't use on this trip - there is an excellent informal bistro . The food in the bistro was very good . Staff throughout were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a good base for exploring the local area; and for cycling - bikes can be hired from the hotel. Highly recommended”

“This is an outstanding Michelin starred restaurant which has rooms. We took the last available room which was a suite, huge room beautifully presented and very comfortable. Dinner was a tour de force with a team so committed to making the experience memorable. It was more than a dining experience - it was like being conducted through an exhibition of outstanding art - art that you got to enjoy by eating it. Several courses beautifully designed and presented and with expertly matched wines, so well explained by the sommelier. We retired for the night not over-full but our minds continuing happily to savour the journey we had just enjoyed in the restaurant. I would rate this as among the best dining experiences I have ever enjoyed! It is superbly situated with wonderful views over meadows in a very quiet neighbourhood. Yet it was only a relatively short but pleasant drive to historic Alkmaar. Without doubt we will be back.”
