“The evening meal was the best of our 16-day tour through 6 North European countries. Although only moderately expensive, it most definitely qualified as haute cuisine - not at all like the heavy, stodgy cooking which Germany was once notorious for. Service was impeccable in the attractive dining room. The hotel enjoys a great rural location, just opposite an ancient tower which affords extensive views, and is a very peaceful place to stay. It also sports a very modern lift.”
“the hotel is in a beautiful location opposite the Shaumburger Castle. Surrounded by Forest it is a nice out of the way place to spend a night or two. We stayed one night as part of our driving holiday, and we were not disappointed. The room was comfortable, but basic. The restaurant served excellent meals, although it is not a cheap eating place. The breakfast is also full of variety. The office and waiting staff were all courteous and friendly. Worth a trip off the normal route.”

“Great location, completely surrounded by the nature. It is just opposite the castle! I travelled by car, I don't know how easy it is to reach by public transport. Staff was very helpful. They did not have any strict vegetarian dish on the menu. Chef Victor improvised a dish, which was very tasty. Overall, great staff. They really try hard to communicate in English.”
