“Althougt we booked a special price room with a lower rate we got a free upgrade to a scenic view room. Rooms are in good condition. Breakfast was very tasty and varied with lokal fruits and good egghoppers, 10 out of 10!!Owner arranged a fullday Safari to Yala NP for 18.500 Rs (2 Pers, private Tour). Everything was included, you just habe to pay a 1.000 Rs more for drivers breakfast and lunch, which is only fair!!Transfers or TukTuks to town or next stations where arranged too!”

“The staff was simply amazing, welcome drink, our luggage was taken care of and we got a nice room with a lovely balcony facing the amazing tissa lake. Unfortunately we chose the 1 1/2 month where the Yala Nationalpark is closed however the owner made our dreams come true and organized a Udawalawa full day Safari with lunch next to a river and lots of fresh fruit for us. The price was reasonable as we didn't have to worry about anything and were super lucky with the animals we spotted. We loved how we were being treated and felt very comfortable also walking home from the city in the evenings back to the property. Breakfast was full of fresh fruit some Sri Lankan hoppers and lots of toast and tea. Nothing to complain about really.”

“The staff was extremely helpful with everything, he organised an early morning safari trip for us (with a breakfast to go). The hotel is in a beautiful area, the walk to tissa is not too far to walk but the staff still offered to give me a lift down. the lunch and dinner food was very nice and had a large range of choice on the menu, the breakfast was simple but still very nice. All topped off with us making friends with the managers son, and his toy car; very cute!”

“This hotel was in a great location as it wasn't far from the shops and Yala National Park. Also the surroundings of the hotel are stunning. The rooms are large with a nice decor and extremely clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating! The food menu was great as there was a variety of meals that were all cooked well! I'd definitely recommend this hotel.”

“This hotel is beautifully situated, surrounded by rice paddies, with views over the lake in one direction and to the temple in another direction, very beautiful and which lights up at night. The staff are lovely, food good..lovely open spaces, including the open air restaurant. The hotel is pretty, modern and clean with large bedrooms, though we paid just a few pounds more for one of the bedrooms on the top floor, with lovely high vaulted ceiling and views. The large covered over but open spaces have sitting areas and hammocks with lovely vistas. The large lake in front of the hotel has boat safari's and this is well worth doing. Nearby there are hundreds of fruit bats hanging from the trees just at the edge of the lake which is quite a sight and then to watch them fly over the hotel at dusk in large numbers is quite something. The Buddhist temple nearby is also worth a visit. We travelled round Sri Lanka and stayed in about 7 hotels and loved this one.”

“The location between rice fields and the tissa lake was fantastic, from which the sunset could be perfectly watched. The appearance of the hotel, including the rooms and general areas was very clean and comfortable. The staff was super friendly, helpful and served a great breakfast.”
