“The location was close to a few sights like Glover Garden. It's not a big hotel, we like the cosy feel of it. Each floor had only 6 rooms. The breakfast room was intimate with about 10 tables. The room was spacious and the shower was excellent. They have a small lounge next to the reception where you can get a free cup of coffee and drinks. The hotel is situated within a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest tram stop that gets you up to others sites in Nagasaki.”

“Very easy to get to this from the station, couple of trams (ask at the Info desk at the station and they explain how to change trams without paying any extra). It is up a steep road/drive whichever way you go in. We walked down to the quayside every night for dinner while we were there, through a lovely park area, very atmospheric. Easy to get trams etc off to the various sites and Glovers garden which sits just above the hotel is well worth a visit. The foyer is a lovely place to linger for a pre dinner drink - wine, beer, juices and more are there as a complimentary drink. Very nice touch. The staff were all very friendly. Our room, with balcony, overlooked the bay. Each morning we watched vast numbers of Chinese tourists pile of huge cruise ships and were very grateful we were staying in such a lovely place. This is one of the hotels on our trip we'd like to come back to. Very comfy beds too, unlike the hard ones we had elsewhere. Slept like babies.”

“This is a quirky hotel in a western style building in a very historical part of a city that is hugely rich in history. It's just up from the 'Bund' and is in the old settlement area. As such it's round the corner from Glover Gardens, Dejima, the old Oura church and site of the martyrs, as well as Chinatown and the Confucian shrine in particular. A different huge cruise liner would dock just down the road everyday. The Gunkanjima digital museum is also nearby and you can take trams further afield eg to the atomic bomb museum. We didn't have dinner here but the breakfasts were good. The lounge area was very good with free drinks and nibbles being a very nice touch. Lots of fascinating reading material on Nagasaki to browse too.”

“Charming hotel in the historic part of Nagasaki. A bit far from Nagasaki station and not many restaurants close by, but the hotel is at 15 minutes walking distance to China Town and about 20 mins walking distance to the shopping arcade where there are lots of restaurants and other shops. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the tram station. Excellent staff and beautiful hotel with lots of ambiance. Good size room for a hotel in Japan. Bathroom was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.”

“We like the refreshment area in the lobby. The staff were helpful all the time. They also gave good recommendations of places to eat and things to do during our stay. Another bonus was it had little shops around the hotel!”
