“Lovely old fashioned hotel, updated tastefully. Friendly staff, tasty food and a nice atmosphere. Much nicer than the huge, soulless hotels you usually find these days. Location is less than a minute from the beach. The spray hits you at the front door on a windy day. It’s central to the town so all the pubs and restaurants are a short walk away. The Stella Maris is the perfect base for exploring the town and west Clare in general. I would definitely stay there again.”

“Management was helpful and friendly . The location was very nice . Parking was easy. Great things to do in the area. We ate dinner in the bar that is attached to the hotel and the food was quite nice . Very convenient because the weather turned very rainy and windy .”

“Staff were very pleasant and the food was very good too. Bedroom newly refurbished but room had view of derelict hotel opposite! however, it was a spacious quiet room as requested. The building is old so just a tiny bit musty , bath seemed old and the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner I think.”
