“The quality of the accommodation and the service were fantastic, far above my expectations. We did have a couple of challenges with the food, the evening meal was cold, however the issue was immediately rectified and a discount applied to the bill. In the morning, breakfast was ok, the only fruit available was chopped apple and on ordering poached eggs and mushrooms rather than the eggs Benedict, I received 5 slices of mushroom and one fully set hard poached egg. Again, I asked for another egg and did receive one. In summary, fantastic quality of accommodation and service and I would certainly return.”
“Staff were polite, efficient and friendly with a good sense of humour. Room was cosy and warm on entry, which felt welcoming after bracing the icy wind outside. Breakfast was very good with a cosmopolitan menu. Loved my eggs!”
“The staff was very friendly and helpful. Decoration of the rooms was beautiful and very different to normal hotels”
“The Breakfast was fantastic, the rooms lovely and clean and the staff very accommodating.”

“Very attractive comfortable characterful inn with excellent food provision in a beautiful location. Attentive staff (particularly manager) and a particularly good choice for a solo female traveller as you feel you are safe and well looked after at all times and can enjoy a peaceful pampering stay.”
“Croissants and choice of cooked breakfasts was excellent”
“Great breakfast and lovely pub. Good sized room and bathroom”
“The building is far from modern, so no glass or stainless steel anywhere, brilliant. This is an old world building, clean, tidy, neat, very well preserved and presented - oak beams, paneled walls, open fireplaces. A real change from the modern sterile places I usually frequent. Being a few miles out of Whalley and Clitheroe it's quiet but being with friends, colleagues and a good pint or glass of red wine it's heaven. Well worth the trip and I'd be back there tomorrow if business called for it - even though I only live in a neighbouring village called Barrowford”
“Our bed was extrememly comfortable but our bathroom was small. It didn't matter for one night. Our friends' room was OK but they felt they were in the "middle of the road" as it jutted outwards from the main building - again, all fine for one night, and there was no noise for any of us during the night time. The staff were excellent - helpful, friendly, welcoming and the menu and table service was good value for money, well presented and served. The gardens were lovely and the bar staff good humoured. All staff were very pleasant.”
