“Cons: Insufficient parking, overpriced for the value, not enough power outlets in the room for electronics, outwardly looks like a quaint, charming bed-and-breakfast -- in reality, just old and shabby with doors that stick, furniture that creak, and garish lighting. Pros: located close to downtown Santa Barbara although not necessarily within walking distance, 24x7 coffee/tea/hot chocolate service in the lobby albeit none in-room, wait staff courteous and very responsive, complimentary (but mediocre) breakfast although my mother seemed to really enjoy the oatmeal.”

“This is a lovely older, historic hotel with beautiful grounds. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They serve a nice buffet breakfast (included with the booking) and the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. The Upham is just on the edge of downtown, so we could, and did, walk everywhere!”
