“The moment I stepped in the Yado Kiramachi I felt like I am in the different world. Serene and peaceful. Every little detail showed me that the designer of this hotel had an eye for Japanese traditional interior design! The bedding was very comfortable and everything in the room was clean and well-maintained. This property is located only a few steps away from the main street so you can reach everything you need easily. The owner and the designer/staff were extremely friendly and considerate. I chose the room with bathroom, so I took a bath in serenity looking through the window onto the little Japanese garden. They newly opened two more room with an open-air bath. I had a chance to take a look around thanks to the Japanese lady owner and it was extraordinary!! You should try their open-air bath too!! I will definitely come back again in the sakura blooming season.”

“This traditional Japanese hotel is brand new and each room is very spacious, uniquely designed and very peaceful. We stayed four nights and our host went above and beyond for us, accommodating us giving us great recommendations, reserving us restaurants and taking time to help us out. These futons are the most comfortable we've slept on and the hotel really made the difference in our hotel experience in Kyoto. Each room has a beautiful shower with all amenitities that you need as well as some pretty good coffee and tea for the morning. From our window we could see the beautiful old town district we were in and geishas walking by. Would highly recommend. 1000 times nicer than your standard luxury hotel chain.”
